Slupik Mini Farm in Niwot, Colorado has stolen my heart

"After weeks of 90-degree heat, we dropped into the 50s with light rain, and moody smokey dark gray clouds that graced the top of the foothills. I finished showing a property in Lafayette and felt the pull of Fall Flowers so off I went to a locally owned family business that has stolen my heart, Slupik Mini Farm! The drive from Lafayette to Niwot was filled with scenes of sunflowers, black cows laying low in the grass, looking like they were enjoying the change of temperature as much as I was, and beautiful fenced-in horse farms with thick lush grass; I was starting to feel like I had been transported to upstate New York. After steering clear of the Saturday morning cyclists on the winding roads, I arrived at the Slupik Flower Hut!
My friend, Marina introduced me to Slupik Mini Farm a few weeks ago for a fun girl’s evening of libations and bouquet making with freshly cut flowers from the Slupik family flower gardens, with beauties such as…Alliums, Tulips, Ranunculus, Zinnias, Bells of Ireland, Snap Dragons, Anemones, Peonies, and so much more! This farm is idyllic as it sits below the beautiful Colorado foothills and boasts an adorable greenhouse, a lovely farmhouse with wrap around porch, a tree house of a child’s dreams, flower, vegetable, herb gardens, and beautiful chickens, oh my! Today my destination was the Flower House sitting on the edge of the property filled with freshly cut flowers, gorgeous bouquets in canning jars, art, vegetables, edible flowers, and handmade cards all on the honor system, (thank you Venmo) perhaps I love this because it reminds me so much of Vermont roadside stands. Regardless, I say GO and visit this Northern Colorado gem before the snow flies and the flowers take a long winter’s nap.
